Typical Intern Tasks

As a Media Personality Intern at CARIB VOXX, you’ll gain hands-on experience in creating, hosting, and promoting digital content that engages our community. Responsibilities include:

• Content Creation & Hosting: Host and present for various Carib Voxx digital shows, interviews, and live segments. Act as the face of our brand in video and social media content.
• Interviewing & Storytelling: Conduct interviews with artists, influencers, and cultural icons, bringing out compelling stories and showcasing unique perspectives relevant to Carib Voxx’s audience.
• Script Writing & Storyboarding: Collaborate with the production and editorial teams to develop show concepts, write scripts, and craft storyboards that resonate with Carib Voxx’s style and message.
• Brand Representation: Be a cultural ambassador for Carib Voxx, consistently embodying and promoting the brand’s values, voice, and visual style across all channels.
• Social Media Engagement: Actively engage with our audience on social media platforms through live streams, video updates, and interactive Q&As to strengthen community ties and build loyalty.
• Collaborate with Production & Creative Teams: Work closely with the production team to bring creative ideas to life, ensuring that all content aligns with Carib Voxx’s mission to highlight African and Caribbean culture.
• Trend Spotting & Influencer Outreach: Stay ahead of the latest trends in music, fashion, and pop culture. Identify relevant influencers and collaborate with them to expand Carib Voxx’s reach and audience.
• Event Coverage: Represent Carib Voxx at major cultural events, festivals, and shows. Provide real-time coverage and behind-the-scenes access to give followers an insider’s view.

Requirements

• On-Camera Presence: Strong, engaging personality suited to being on-air, with the ability to captivate and connect with an audience.
• Cultural Knowledge & Passion: Deep knowledge of and passion for African and Caribbean culture, music, art, and lifestyle trends. Ability to engage authentically with Carib Voxx’s community.
• Research & Interview Skills: Skilled in research, with a talent for conducting in-depth interviews that bring out unique insights and connect with diverse viewers.
• Adaptability & Versatility: Comfortable in fast-paced, changing environments, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Communication & Teamwork: Strong communicator and team player, able to work closely with production, editorial, and social media teams.
• Tech & Social Media Savvy: Proficient in social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Familiarity with basic video editing tools or content management systems is a plus.
• Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings or weekends for live events or social media engagement.

Learning Objectives, Supervision & Feedback

• Supervision: Work closely with our Creative Director and Production Team, who will provide guidance, feedback, and support throughout the internship.
• Skill Development: Gain valuable on-camera experience, improve interview and public speaking skills, and learn the nuances of creating brand-aligned digital content.
• Portfolio Building: Create a portfolio of video content, interviews, and show segments that reflect your unique style and ability to connect with audiences.
• Performance Tracking: Supervisors will review audience engagement metrics, content reach, and quality to provide constructive feedback on your impact and growth. Academic evaluations are available upon request.

Eligibility, Stipend & Credit

• Stipend: $1,500 USD paid upon completion of the internship.
• Academic Credit: Available for interns upon school request.
• Location: Candidates must be based in Jamaica and available for occasional in-person events and media engagements.
