The carnival band stuns with a dazzling display of their much-anticipated line for the upcoming season. “Kingdom of the Sun” serves as the theme that GenXS has built a world around, inviting revelers to bask in its celestial brilliance and golden warmth.
Building on their reputation for creativity and expression throughout past seasons, GenXS promises to take patrons on an amazing journey. Each costume tells its own story of celestial beauty, strength, and elegance, demonstrating a narrative of light and darkness, as explained by Tagyei Belinfante, Director of GenXS.
A Battle of Light and Darkness
“We feel like Carnival is the light, road march is the light, and the darkness is anything that exudes negative energy, and that’s why you should come out with GenXS, put on your costume or T-shirt, and fight that darkness,” Belinfante says of the theme “Kingdom of the Sun.” He explains that GenXS’ commitment to innovation extends to their road experience, collection process, and band launch, which was conducted virtually.

GenXS’ “Kingdom of the Sun” collection features a stunning array of costumes that celebrate the sun’s beauty, power, and influence across cultures and time. Each design draws inspiration from mythology, celestial wonders, and radiant energy, creating a lineup as diverse as the revelers themselves. The collection includes:

“A lot of work went into the costumes from the designers, and we are very pleased with the results from the sections; they embody the spirit of carnival, and it will be magic on the road,” says Mala Morrison, a director of GenXS. Speaking on the band’s progression in Jamaica, she adds, “The first year was a proof of concept for us in Jamaica, then scaling the next year, so we continue to work towards being a better band and making carnival memorable for our patrons.” While Morrison couldn’t choose a favorite piece, one patron narrowed it down to three, noting they were all stunning but needed time to make a final decision.
