Often times when people venture on a different path in life, there’s a sense of enlightenment and several things change. For Eva Hype, one of those things was his name. Less than a year ago, we sat down with him for an interview. Now, we sit with Amali.

“As I grew as an artist and as a person, I wanted a name that encapsulated the essence of who I am. My new name is Amali – Stefan Amali in full! The word Amali means hope in Swahili! I feel like my determination and perseverance has the ability to provide people with hope, hence the name change.”

Amali has been doing music for over seven years and continues to become more diverse. He has since delved into the Latin American market with his 2015 hit ‘One Shot’ produced by KevStar Records, which amassed over 40,000 plays on Soundcloud. He now makes music in Portuguese, Spanish, and English.

In his recent music video for his single ‘Your Mind’, he expresses his love for a lucky lady. Your Mind is a fun, upbeat song which is the first single from his upcoming project. The song features a play on words, “You’re mine, you’re mine, you’re mine, because of your mind…” and a lot of soulful vibes.

New Album

Amali is a proud Jamaican who offers a unique vibe in his music. His upcoming album, World Citizen, is what he describes as the culmination of an attempt to bridge the divide. It is expected to be a potpourri of languages and cultures from around the world.

” I’m very proud of the fact that I make music in multiple languages, not only because it’s unique for a Jamaican artist but because I really love culture!”

– Stefan Amali

Although no date has been set for the album’s release, there are still a few music videos and singles to be released. His one piece of advice for upcoming artists is to learn new languages.
