The Big Links Riddim has been the standout riddim of the Soca season so far, capturing the hearts of Soca fans with four hit songs that are currently dominating the top of the Apple Music charts in Trinidad. Released on December 2, 2024, by Full Blown Entertainment, it has featured top-tier Soca artists, including Machel Montano with his recent single “The Truth,” Kes’ “No Sweetness,” and rising Soca sensation Yung Bredda’s “Greatest Bend Over.” The Big Links Riddim has been sweetening up the Soca season and sparking debate among patrons about which track on the riddim reigns supreme. All four songs are sitting in the top 15 on Apple Music in Trinidad and Tobago—so which is truly the best?

To start, the riddim’s producers also dropped their own track on the beat called “Good Spirits.” The production company and band are no strangers to cooking up hot tracks, as one of their members contributed to the songwriting process for Kerwin Dubois’ hit “Too Real.” “Good Spirits” is now their most-streamed song on Spotify and is currently holding the #13 spot on the Apple Music charts in Trinidad—marking the first time they’ve held that position. Additionally, the lyric video has earned over 340,000 views on YouTube, alongside more than 5,000 likes and nearly 400 comments.

Kes’ “No Sweetness” and Machel Montano’s “The Truth” (from the man fans often call “Double M”) have also been doing well on the charts and on YouTube. “No Sweetness” dropped about two months ago, just a few weeks after Kes’ hit single “Cocoa Tea,” and both songs have already amassed millions of YouTube views. The official lyric video for “No Sweetness” has over 2.5 million views so far and more than 12,000 likes. Known for his groovy ballads, Kes was expected to deliver on this riddim—and he certainly did.

Meanwhile, Machel Montano has lived up to fans’ expectations with “The Truth.” Although the music video was released just days ago, it already boasts over 250,000 views, more than 5,000 likes, and nearly 400 comments on YouTube. Both Kes and Machel have been heating up the Soca season and are poised to keep producing anthems for the upcoming carnival festivities.

While the genre’s established artists continue to dominate the charts, rising star Yung Bredda has grabbed hold of this riddim with his song “Greatest Bend Over.” In fact, he has held the number-one spot on Apple Music in Trinidad and Tobago with that track since December 21, marking the first time he’s ever claimed that position. Based on the numbers alone, it could be considered the riddim’s top song so far. The lyric video, released on December 2, has around 2.7 million views and 19,000 likes, while the visualizer, which dropped 10 days later, has racked up over 4.1 million views and 51,000 likes on YouTube. Although he has since released more tracks, this may very well be the strongest single of his young career to date.
