Burna Boy is on a mission to show how a world tour is done! He brings his Love Damini tour to Kingston, Jamaica, making him the first African artist to headline three stadiums in the Caribbean in one weekend.
The African Giant, who was just nominated for two Grammy Awards—Best Global Music Album for ‘Love Damini’ and Best Global Music Performance for “Last Last”—brings his dominance to the Caribbean Islands of Trinidad, Antigua, and Jamaica. On Sunday, December 18, Jamaicans will be singing “Shayooo” at the National Stadium, ringing in the Christmas season as they never have before. And with whom else would the African giant share the stage than the Unruly Boss himself? Popcaan, who is no stranger to international acts or to Burna, has a feature on the “Love Damini” album released in July on a track titled “Toni-Ann Singh,” after the former Miss World for whom Popcaan recently released a brand new single with “Next to Me.” All this should make for a great story and performance.
The Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer has been dominating the airwaves for quite some time now, and his tracks are very familiar to the Caribbean people. Tracks like “Last Last,” “Ye,” and “On the Low” have been party anthems and a must-play at any event. Popcaan is no different, as “Numbers Don’t Lie.” The dancehall artiste has been topping charts and apparently stealing hearts lately, but we know what to expect when Poppy is on stage.
As it relates to other acts, there has been a lot of speculation and talk, but the promotional teams of Twisted Entertainment, Duke Concept, and the experienced Solid Agency Company are leaving room for surprises. One thing is certain: there is only one “Location” to be on December 18, and that is the National Stadium.
