Immortelle Beauty has captured hearts regionally with its Skin Season Body Illuminator, designed to give women a beautifully burnished skin tone on Carnival day. The success of the product for the Trinidad & Tobago Carnival led CEO & Founder Kathryn Nurse to bring it to Jamaica for their Carnival.
“I really want to continue to expand the ways that our customers can engage with Immortelle Beauty in person and online with new experiential retail solutions both in Trinidad and in the wider region. I was super anxious about it at first but the momentum has been great so far. Our islands have so much in common and it’s so important for us to introduce our Little Local Luxuries to a wider regional market.”
It’s no surprise that a Caribbean woman, like Rihanna, owns one of the most successful skincare brands in history (Fenty Skin). Caribbean women are naturally blessed with resplendent skin, and high-quality products that help to bolster this are deeply revered.
The adulation that Kathryn Nurse has built for herself with local luxury skincare brand Immortelle Beauty is reflective of the reverence that the modern Caribbean woman has for quality products, with an increasing consciousness around wellness in the region.
Immortelle Beauty has always been meticulous about selecting its content creators and influencer partners; therefore, the decision to select Briana Schwapp as the dedicated face of the Jamaica leg of the campaign was a cerebral one.
Dr. Briana Schwapp is a transcendent Jamaican beauty whose love for Carnival is only rivaled by her love for her husband Mike, her family, animals, cowboy boots, and country music. When justifying her decision to engage Briana as the ambassador for this leg of the campaign, Kathryn stated “Because of Briana’s extensive experience in both Trinidad and Jamaica and her commitment to spreading the gospel of Carnival, I thought she would be the perfect person to bridge the gap between the Jamaican market and this Trinidadian Carnival product.“
Briana first discovered Immortelle Beauty products during her time in vet school in Trinidad & Tobago, the native home of the brand, but she has been using their products ever since in every Carnival. “I was given a sample in our very first Elektra gift bag and I’ve been loving their products ever since.” she dotingly stated.
Despite being a tastemaker who is unashamed of her particularity, Briana loves to share her Carnival insights with fellow female revelers looking to curate a high-quality Carnival experience. It’s upon that premise that she accepted the offer to become Immortelle Beauty’s main talent for the Jamaica leg of the campaign, just so she could spread awareness about a brand she genuinely loves. “Well, first of all, the fact that I’m not allergic is the thing I love the most about Immortelle Beauty. As someone with sensitive skin, it’s hard for me to find body illuminators that don’t cause a reaction. I also love that it’s not oily like other products and dries down so you aren’t slipping all over the place.“
Even though the demand for Briana as an influencer has been astronomical in recent times, she maintains the philosophy of only aligning with brands that she genuinely loves. Authenticity is rooted at the core of everything Kathryn Nurse does with Immortelle Beauty, and Briana Schwapp is no different, hence the perfect pertinence of this partnership.
Immortelle Beauty will be hosting a pop-up in Kingston, Jamaica, at Gaychel Boutique on 10 Argyle Road, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. In closing, we asked Briana what she was most excited about for Jamaica Carnival other than the Immortelle Beauty pop-up, and she didn’t hesitate to say, “I’m excited to see my friends and do what we always do. There’s nothing better than having my little team all together on the road and causing chaos!”
