“We see the haters but we just don’t pay attention to them.” That’s the essence of Kaz Fuego’s newest single ‘Pretend’.
The track was produced by 18-year-old Brooklyn Decent and features Kaz’s colleagues and fellow artists Jimmy October and London Future. According to Kaz Fuego, it’s a result of them vibing in the studio. The song tells us that their crew manages to remain genuine even if/when they encounter fakes and hypocrites on their journey.
“I see them but I neverpree them… Round these ends, you ain’t gotta pretend.”
For those who didn’t know, Kaz was actually born and raised in South London. He embraced his UK roots on this track which you can hear in his witty verse. He says we should expect to hear more of this UK style from him in future songs. Jimmy sang the hook and the second verse was done by London Future, who also co-wrote the song.
Kaz says he’s pleased with the feedback thus far as it has even been getting regular airplay on radio stations in Trinidad & Tobago. When asked if there would be a music video for the track, he said it’s definitely in the works.
The single is currently on all streaming platforms and you can also check it out on YouTube using the link provided below.
