Kxng Izem has been making a name for himself on the Jamaican reggae scene for the past few years. The young lyricist who hails from the hills of Kingston and St. Andrew recently released his latest single; a fiery track filled with hot bars, which he titled ‘Wildfire’. The song is approximately three minutes of Kxng Izem displaying a new level of his lyrical capabilities, switching between his usual mellow vibe and a fast paced flow to show that he is not one to be “downplayed”, as he states in the hook. The instrumental for ‘Wildfire’ was the work of UK based producer Harry Hunt and is a fusion of reggae, intertwined with subtle trap and heavy dancehall sounds padded with a fast, upbeat tempo that sears through your body and gets your head bopping.
“Harry Hunt is a producer from the UK I found on YouTube, his beats reasonate with me, so I lease/purchase them whenever I find one that I like”. – Izem
Following the release of the track, Kxng Izem also gave us some visuals for ‘Wildfire’. The video was directed by cinematographer JusHugh and features some spectacular drone shots, while Izem performs the song in some prominent parts of Kingston and St Andrew, with scenes in Gordon Town, Halfway Tree, Cross Roads and Life Yard, Fleet Street, Downtown Kingston.
“We chose these places because it’s the life and heart of Kingstonians, it’s where most of their activities are centered on a daily basis. These places along with Life Yard share a sense of productivity, potential and progress just as the single ‘Wildfire’ expresses. A forceful movement aiming for a better tomorrow. It’s also a reflection of youthful exuberance. Sonically the song represents just that”. – Izem
‘Wildfire’ is available for streaming on all major platforms and the visuals can be viewed on YouTube. Support Kxng Izem as he continues to make strides and build his brand.
