Lebert Henry never set out to craft a defining moment in dancehall, at least not that day. But when the producer, better known as PiNK MONKEY, walked into the studio on a whim, instinct took over. Four months later, he had built Nuh Response Riddim, a project as intentional as it is infectious.
“I told myself I was taking the leap of faith,” PiNK MONKEY says, reflecting on that first spark. “I was ready to contribute something meaningful to dancehall not just a beat, but a real project that connected.”
With Rvssian as a guiding light, and a tight-knit circle of collaborators including Kosa, Whiteline, Keeto, and Bush offering game-shifting feedback, PiNK MONKEY got to work. But this wasn’t just another riddim to be passed around this was a sonic manifesto, fueled by hunger and guided by community.
The journey wasn’t smooth. PiNK MONKEY spent months grinding through the nuances of building a full riddim from scratch: scheduling vocal sessions, managing egos, making mistakes, and learning on the fly. But somewhere between the stress and the vision, something started clicking.

“I knew it was bigger than me when people like Kosa, DJ Redyfamus, and DJ Hottablaxx gave it their stamp,” he says. “That’s when I stopped questioning whether it was good enough. It wasn’t just a file on my laptop anymore. It was real.”
And real is right. From Fixaveli’s commanding title track to RojaeMc’s global-sounding Intoxicated, the riddim evolved into something much deeper than just a rhythm bed. It became a platform. A movement. Barbie J’s flirtatious edge, Trella V’s vibrant charisma, and Jay A’s high-energy contributions rounded out the lineup, giving the riddim full-spectrum flavor.
“I gave everyone full creative freedom,” PiNK MONKEY shares. “No micromanaging. I told them: be yourself, create something you’d love to perform, and trust the process.”
And it worked. Because Nuh Response Riddim isn’t about forcing a moment, it’s about channeling energy. From dance-floors to digital spaces, it’s already making its mark.
“There were challenges, of course,” he says. “But I embraced them. That’s how I know this project matters. It was never supposed to be easy only worth it.”
Now streaming across all major platforms, Nuh Response Riddim is more than a collection of tracks. It’s PiNK MONKEY’s declaration of belief in his sound, in his circle, and in the enduring power of dancehall to evolve and elevate.
