Protoje and Koffee ‘Switch It Up’ in Decadent Music Video

After teasing pictures for the past few weeks, Protoje has finally blessed us with the music video for “Switch It Up” featuring Koffee. The track hails from his 2020 album, In Search of Lost Time. The video premiered on New Wave Jamaica in celebration of the relaunch of their website.

The rapid-fire spitting between Protoje and Koffee is accompanied by stunning visuals in a casino and a large and opulent dining table featuring cameos from Lila Iké, Sevana, Jesse Royal, Jaz Elise, and Royal Blu, most of whom lent their vocals to the track. In sharp suits and dazzling dresses styled by Diedre McKenzie, the star-studded cast looked at home surrounded by decadence. Choreographed moments by Shamara “Inspire” Spencer also made this video stand out from the rest.

The video, directed by Xtreme Arts, gives the song a new meaning as it marks a new era for Jamaican music. The artists have all “switched it up” in their own ways and continue to take Jamaican music to new heights. This video in itself is a switch up from the norm. In Search of Lost Time is Proteje’s first album since a deal was made between RCA Records and his label, In.Digg.Nation. Three artists from the In.Digg.Nation Collective (Sevana, Jaz Elise and Lila Iké) have also been signed on to this deal as well.

A new reggae royalty is being ushered in and we’re glad we’re here to see it!
