TEMPO Networks has developed a prodigious reputation for delivering the very best in Caribbean culture and entertainment for the last 17 years. Under the guidance of its Founder & CEO, Frederick A. Morton, Jr., TEMPO has once again positioned itself, as a resourceful, cultural leader in the marketplace with its highly anticipated launch of the Hot Ones Caribbean Season 2 – Jamaican edition.
“Words can’t begin to express my excitement for the launch of Hot Ones – Jamaica Edition. For so many reasons, Jamaica holds a very special place in my heart, as it was the first island on which TEMPO was launched in 2005, with a historic TEMPO event in Oracabessa, James Bond Beach. To partner with the Jamaica Tourist Board and other iconic Jamaican brands to further spotlight the destination and its unique culture in the Caribbean mosaic is at the core of my vision. Jamaica is a certified Hot One!” Morton stated.
Culturally, Jamaicans are tastemakers in the spice department and cuisine is undoubtedly an indelible aspect of the culture. The Jamaica Tourist Board, always leading the way in ensuring Jamaica is marketed and promoted in the most exciting ways, does it once again, coming on board for the historic production which tests celebrities’ pepper tolerance against a range of popular local sauces, while spotlighting the world-renowned beauty of the destination. The show hosts 10 pepper sauces and this season includes the spicy entry of Grace Hot Pepper Sauce, Smart Choice Farms, Unplugged, Scotch Boyz, Maggi Pepper Sauce, Walkerswood, Maggi Scotch Bonnet Sauce, Uncle Ducky’s, Tootsie’s Hot Truff., Lincoln’s Likkle Tups and, of course, TEMPO’s own House of TEMPO (HOT) sauce.
Ashley Em and Brush1 The Road Marshall step in as hosts for this season and their inclusion brings a unique layer of diversity to the show. With 10 years of hosting experience on the hit entertainment tv show Intense, Ashley Em brought poise, effortlessness, and a mesmeric aura to the hot ones table which compliments Brush1 who brought energy and audacious charisma to the mix.
When asked what it meant to be a part of Hot Ones Caribbean, Brush1 was very transparent about the sentimental effect that it had on him stating that ” It means a lot that an international brand such as Tempo Networks has seen me fit to represent their company and that is something that I take very seriously and I am honoured to be one of the hosts of Hot Ones Caribbean. It is definitely something that I would say is life-changing. This is a big moment and a big deal for myself and the Caribbean.”
He furthered the value he found in the experience by expressing that “Hosting has taught me how to be an attentive listener and while filming the show, communication was a big aspect of the project. From listening to those behind the screen, the directions and their advice, and listening to the persons in front of the screen who you are interviewing, they are telling you about their life and their career so you want to show them that your focus in on them, Based on follow up questions a guest will know if you were truly listening to them. In general, I think life is so fast-paced people tend to hear but we don’t listen.”
The series will feature Jamaica’s premier personalities in music, fashion, sports, and entertainment. In a Win a Trip promotion, in collaboration with the Jamaica Tourist Board and American Airlines, viewers will have an opportunity to win an all-expense paid trip to come to Jamaica and explore the beauty of the world-renowned destination including a food excursion with YouTube sensation Food Boss.
Long-time TEMPO video production partners, Phase Three Productions and, Market Me, are providing local production and marketing support to the Network, as Hot Ones Caribbean – Season 2 promises to be a culturally flavourful experience. The show launches on TEMPO’s new streaming platform, TEMPO+, on March 10th and everywhere on March 16th, including cable (TEMPO, Flow 1), TEMPO Youtube, and several other platforms. Stay tuned for additional listings. In closing, Morton stated ” Hot Ones Caribbean represents a unique way to market and promote our remarkable region. It allows for the presentation of multiple attributes, including our amazing cuisine, while spotlighting our rich talent, culture, and beautiful destination in a most entertaining manner. The United States Virgin Islands, where I was born and raised, is up next for the third Season and we plan to spotlight all of the islands, returning to many like Jamaica, as multiple episodes are required to bring out all the heat! “
