Luigi Creese is a Trinidadian born 19 year old who has been involved in Photography for the past 5 years. His passion for photography focuses primarily on portraits, where the strength of his portfolio lies in capturing the diverse beauty of people in a unique and artistic way.
Earlier this year, I met Jabari through someone I collaborated with at the time on a photoshoot. I was told that he had a lot of interesting and exotic animals where he lived, so we took a trip up to his home and captured this shot of him and one of his pets. At first the monkey appears to be very angry, but it was simply responding protectively to a stranger being too close to its owner.
This shoot with Alicia happened at the very start of 2020 after a very rocky 2019 and was my first shoot I’d done in almost over a month. Worked with my very talented friend Celine on getting the hair, make-up and clothing right for this image that we did on the floors of Idlewood.
I had the pleasure of doing the photography for my friend and very talented musician, Omar Jarra’s music video, in 2019. I owe the success of all the images to everyone on the team helping out that night, from lights to make up to clothing and all other aspects of the shoot.
My friend Coyell and I spontaneously decided to take a drive around our neighbourhood to take some images one night and this shot happened. There was no real plan in terms of what we wanted to capture of him but I remember exactly when the idea hit me later that night, what I was going to do with the shots.
This photoshoot ended up really only being one shot. I had planned weeks in advance doing my research on afros and how I want the image to be done and how best to go about doing it with Jahlisa. Got my good friend Celine to assist with make-up and jewelry for the shoot only for everyone to run late, myself included. Whilst rushing through the shoot, I did this particular shot and immediately knew it was the one. Turned out to be the only one I used.
Dominic and I were to shoot for weeks, probably even months before this shoot finally happened and it was worth the wait. Between a busted foot from jumping in the air and the rainy weather, we got this shot I stitched together through some graphic work. Definitely one of my favourites for the year thus far.
