Michael Moodie
As a creative, I like to exploit the beauty or complexity of things around me while still keeping those things true to what they are. Adding meaning to simple things has always been a habit in my creative journey and is something I continue to do. I am Michael Moodie, a self-taught lifestyle photographer, and published photojournalist. My passion for photography grew through my fight with depression and anxiety which I have grown to accept and still currently deal with. Through my work, I make it my duty to inspire and help others who share similar struggles as I do, especially my fellow creatives.
I’d like to believe I have been blessed with a talent or an “eye” as others would say that serves a purpose to help share positivity and light through what I create. After all, as photographers, we are not only storytellers but we use light or even darkness to create something worth enjoying.

What I enjoyed the most about creating this photo was not only how lush and perfect the greens in the background were but also how powerful she looked. In this day and age, it’s become a trend to photograph women in a very sexual sense but not often are they photographed in such a way that evokes how strong they are. Ivy is a stunning blogger and content creator with whom I had the opportunity to work through collaboration.

This image came about during a weekend in Negril while capturing content for a Resort. What I enjoyed the most about composing this shot was the richness in the colors as well as the contrast within the shot itself. Many who saw the shot had the Idea that oil was applied to his skin for it to look so rich but in reality, he was actually sweating.
Naomi Cowan
This shot was actually very unintentional as I got the opportunity to meet Naomi through a friend of mine. This shot was taken after she had completed recording her new music video for her reggae cover to the popular song “thank u, next”. I don’t do black and white photography much but when I do, I love for the image to speak volumes for itself. I shared this photo with Naomi a few days after meeting her, at which point she expressed how much she loved it and actually made it the art cover for that very single she had recently recorded.

Lifestyle Photography is one of my favorite genres to practice on any given day. I love to tie different elements and people together to see the story or mood they can evoke to someone by just looking at that particular frame. I also have a thing for greens which I thought made this shot very colorful when I composed it. This picture was taken during a tour of the Worthy Park Sugar Plantation on which I was invited to be the lead content photographer.
Popcaan
I captured this shot back in the year of 2016 during the recording of his single “Wicked Man Ting”. It’s always been interesting to me to capture artists in their elements during moments of producing their own art or performing to it. Throughout my career, I have been granted the opportunity many times to do this with various recording artist and I continue to be thankful for it.
Mortimer
This was another one of those opportunities where I was asked to be the photographer to capture content for his new EP that was set to be released in September 2019. This was actually my first time as a photographer being responsible for the EP content of any artist which made it very special. The theme behind the content production for this EP was for the images to be as “moody” as possible, no pun intended. I enjoyed this shoot not only because it was right up my alley but also because of the energy that was present throughout the session. I got the chance to understand the artist more and what his new EP would be about which made it even easier to get my job done and capture the right set of images for him and his team.
