“Dancehall cyaa stall.” Truer words have never been spoken. The year 2024 was a festive year for the genre, and 2025 should be even greater with all the talent geared up to take the year by storm. As we step into 2025, here are the top 10 dancehall artists to watch for 2025 in no particular order set to push not only their careers but the dancehall genre to new heights.
Tielo Lanez
“Selah,” we start the list with the upcoming talent Tielo Lanez. With a smooth yet commanding delivery, it’s easy to recognize why Tielo Lanez makes this list. His ability to fuse melodic elements with hardcore dancehall beats makes him stand out in the ever-competitive genre. Whether releasing tracks for the ladies or introspective bangers he captivates his audience solidifying his spot on the list.
Eddy G Bomba
Everything about Eddy G Bomba is different, and dancehall fans do enjoy the fresh and unexpected. In a time where people may argue about most artists having a lot of similar qualities, Eddy G Bomba is not one of them. From his voice to his flow to his signature rock, his style is incomparable. Who else would say something like “Johncrow pon gears and monkey and rabbit” to describe clothing brands in a song? Clever wordplay like that and his simple originality that creates an infectious vibe to his songs guarantee his place on this list. Fans are already anticipating his next hit.
Sp!da
Sp!da is bringing a fierce, feminine energy to dancehall, proving that the ladies can dominate the scene just as much as the men. With her sultry voice and sharp lyricism, she has built a growing fan base hungry for more. As female dancehall artists continue to gain global recognition, Sp!da is definitely one to watch closely this year. Her most recent track, “Any Weather,” has already set the tone for the year.
Jamal
This artist has given dunce a whole new meaning; Webster needs to be updated. The self-proclaimed “Dunce” artist somehow uses the term in an uplifting and motivational sense that resonates with some and leaves some confused. Regardless of which side of that coin you are on we can all agree that tracks like “Time” and “Ballondor” are wheel-and-pull hits wherever they are played. Given the stamp of approval by the Worl Boss himself, who was singing Jamal’s music word for word at his Freedom Street concert, you can recognize Jamal’s appeal in the genre. We expect no less than big things from the artist.
Skippa
Skippa brings a unique flow and undeniable swagger to dancehall. His nonchalant flow with his hard-hitting lyrics makes a unique combination, one that is loved by fans so far as he has a couple of street anthems out there. His project “4Granny” took the streets by storm late last year and is still in rotation. A project this year? Who knows? What is sure is that it will be a big 2025 for Skippa Don.
Ayetian
Have you ever caught yourself with a random outburst of ”Balance!”? You are not alone. Ayetian had the ladies in a trance with that track that introduced many to his raw energetic style. Definitely worth the listen, his catalog so far has songs that may have slid under the radar for you, but we expect his 2025 to be as loud as it can be, as he is a talent that demands attention.
Nhance
Already a street favorite, Nhance has a string of viral singles that showcase his versatility. His knack for a motivational song is probably what his fans appreciate the most. Tracks like “Work and Believe” and “Time & God” celebrate youth and promote hard work and are perfect for the daily grind. With the right moves, this year could be his breakout moment.
Badskyla
The other female on the list, Badskyla, has the raw ingredients for greatness. Her raw and sexy style is something the dancehall scene always appreciates when it comes to the ladies. Blessing us late last year with “Bad Gyal Laws” she already has the rules down for the game. With some consistency for 2025, there’s nothing stopping her from having an amazing year.
Likkle Vybz
Never mind coming from a great dancehall lineage, Likkle Vybz has already decided what type of year it will be as he started strong with the release of his EP “Love Lane.” The Beatles-like cover, standing on a prominent street in Kingston, shows the attention to detail in the project. He experiments with sounds in this project, showing the fearlessness his father had when approaching the genre of dancehall. This attitude from a young age shows he has a high ceiling if he continues with this work ethic.
Likkle Addi
Like his brother, Likkle Addi is proving that talent runs in the family. His recent hit alongside Vybz Kartel “Man of the Match,” shows he can handle the driving seat as Kartel took a passenger seat for his son to showcase his talent. Coming off that momentum, we expect him to follow up this year with some exciting music. A project? Maybe. With a loyal fan base and strong mentorship, he has all the right ingredients for a breakthrough year.
These artists are shaping the future of dancehall, each bringing something unique to the table. Whether through innovative sounds, storytelling, or raw energy, they’re the ones pushing the genre forward. Who are you most excited to see blow up in 2025? Let us know, because one thing’s for sure, dancehall is in good hands!
