Since its first staging on Dec. 22 2018, Unruly Fest has grown into an even larger event, hosting acts like Popcaan, Bounty Killer, and international artists such as Drake and Tory Lanez. The second staging takes place this Saturday, Dec. 21, at Goodyear Factory in St. Thomas, will you be there?
Fans were pleasantly surprised last year when rumours that Drake would perform turned out to be true. While on stage Drake announced that Popcaan would now be signed to OVO Sound, Drake’s Toronto-based record label, hosting artists such as PartyNextDoor, Dvsn, Roy Woods, and other popular names in hip-hop, rap, and R&B. During his first year signed to OVO, Popcaan released single “Billions” featuring Quada and Vanquish, a 10-track mixtape.
Rumour has it that acts such as Davido, Da Baby, and Meek Mill, will be performing at the St. Thomas concert. The suspense surrounding the event is a major part of its success; excitement builds up for weeks in advance as fans scramble to figure out the silhouettes on the Unruly Fest poster.
Fans have guessed that Da Baby is one of the surprise international artists, though he is currently on tour. Will he make a surprise appearance?
The last Unruly Fest was packed according to patrons who attended. With a change in venue and a longer list of performers, fans are hoping the space can accommodate for the larger audience.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and showtime is 9 p.m.
