Di Lot was immersed in waves and the musical vibrations of ‘Welcome to Treasure Beach’, a live show courtesy of Zac Jone$, $tony Official, and Culcha House.
Celebrating his birthday and his first show, $toney artiste Zac Jone$ represented the frontline of the next generation with whom he shared a stage. Names such as Friday Night Cru, Whosrila, Sir Trex, Courtni, Akina Eman, Iotosh, and Yanah graced Di Lot with refreshing sounds and styles.
Opening the show was Sir Trex, who was burdened with the undermined task of setting the tone, which he handled brilliantly. The talented artiste started the wave at ‘Treasure Beach’, with which his peers followed suit, each bringing out their personalities and musical qualities on stage leading up to the arrival of the birthday boy.
His initial arrival was with Bottega in hand for everyone to wish him a happy birthday, and after his Bottega break, he took to the stage. He started with unreleased tracks from his upcoming album ‘Welcome To Treasure Beach’, which everyone can agree sounds very promising with his knack for creating sonically pleasing music, associating nostalgic sounds with his personal “new” sound. Other than debuting new tracks, he performed some oldies and fan favorites, one of them being ‘The Weed Song’, which introduced a more familiar face to the festivities, Jesse Royal. The small axe himself performed his collaborative track with Zac in front of an excited audience after Jesse took a moment to wish Zac a blessed “earthstrong” and stated his pleasure to see the youth in the industry, then afterwards medleyed two tracks of his own.
‘Welcome to Treasure Beach’ is the perfect representation of youth and current culture, showing the “aptitude” of the next generation to create a space for themselves and their art in the entertainment Industry. The tropical name not only represents the name of Zac’s album but also the sound and vibe that were introduced at Di Lot. The event was expertly planned and executed, with décor and props keeping the patrons engaged and snapping.
The proud sponsors behind ‘Welcome to Treasure Beach’ include: Bottega, The Jamaica Observer, Shop 876, Pure Country, Fyah 105, Jacana, and What Party.
Zac, $tony, and Culcha House definitely brought the sands of St. Elizabeth to Kingston with ‘Welcome to Treasure Beach’, and now the wait is on as the album is now on everyone’s mind.
