Hyundai Miss Universe Jamaica Contestant 2023, Jordanne Lauren Levy, has established herself as one of the favorites in this year’s competition. Her unmatched stylistic sensibilities, gracefulness, and poise have captured the attention of numerous pageant enthusiasts this year. As a medical doctor, the scheduling demands of her life over the last few weeks have been both tedious yet impactful, yielding rewarding results.
Health equity stands as a social issue dear to Jordanne’s heart. She fervently believes that access to quality healthcare should not only be reserved for the affluent, but should extend to all Jamaicans. “I believe in providing free healthcare for all Jamaicans. I advocate for accessible healthcare, even in remote areas.”
Health education and global citizenship are also topics that she is admirably passionate about, but her altruistic project, the ‘Be-You-tiful Campaign,’ holds particular relevance. “The ultimate goal is to empower young women to overcome personal and societal obstacles, allowing them to fully embrace their unique potential. In collaboration with my pageant sponsor Closet Code, I am organizing a clothing drive to provide appropriate work attire for young women entering the workforce, addressing an identified issue. I will also be working with the Majesty Garden community, a place special to me due to my Grandfather’s significant involvement. Continuing his legacy is important to me.”
“The ‘Be-You-Tiful’ Campaign” is rooted in my passion for making a lasting impact and aiding in the elevation and inspiration of young women. Through this campaign, my objective is to establish a transformative space where young women can establish a solid financial foundation to pursue personal and professional aspirations. They will also acquire essential tools to navigate the world with confidence, self-assurance, and grace. This dynamic initiative originated from my personal desire for such opportunities during my own pivotal transition into adulthood. Its ultimate goal is to empower young women to transcend personal and societal obstacles, fully embracing their unique potential. The Be-You-Tiful Campaign will adopt a holistic approach, creating a comprehensive support system for young women across the island through substantial financial aid, mentorship, and personal development resources led by female trailblazers from various industries and sectors. At its core, my aim is to ensure that these young women are fully equipped to confidently present their best, most empowered selves, forging a future where success knows no bounds.”
