Contemporary Caribbean art takes center stage once again as Trinidadian visual artist Luke Pounder steps into the spotlight for Worlds Collide Trinidad, adding a fresh layer of depth to one of the region’s most forward-thinking cultural showcases.

Best known as the creative force behind The Art Garden, Pounder has built a reputation for pushing art beyond the frame, inviting audiences to feel, question, and fully experience his work. His addition to this year’s staging signals a strong alignment with the event’s mission to fuse Caribbean creativity with global influence in bold, unexpected ways.

With a portfolio that explores human emotion and the passage of time, seen in works like Hands of Time and Chaos, Pounder isn’t just bringing pieces to display. He’s bringing movement, energy, and interaction. From live painting sessions to immersive installations, his contributions are set to respond directly to the rhythm and sonic pulse of the event.

“My art is meant to make you think and shift perspective,” Pounder shared. “It tells stories and pulls emotion without needing words. Over the past two years, I’ve focused on building spaces where people can tap into their creativity and express freely. Being part of Worlds Collide feels like a natural extension of that.”

Across Trinidad, Pounder’s impact is already visible. As a muralist, creative director, and educator, he has transformed everyday spaces into vibrant visual statements. Through The Art Garden, he has also introduced experiential concepts like Neon Nights, breaking down barriers between artist and audience while keeping the culture at the core.

Now, with Worlds Collide Trinidad on the horizon, his presence adds to the growing anticipation. Following successful editions in Kingston and Barbados, the event returns with a focus on the meeting point between traditional Carnival elements and modern digital and fine art expression.

If anything, Pounder’s involvement signals exactly what this year is about. Art that moves. Art that connects. And art that feels unmistakably Caribbean.
