Despite the rain dampening the Savannah’s lawns during the day, the anticipation for Tribe’s band launch on July 5, 2025, was palpable. As the sun set, the clear night sky set the stage for an unforgettable evening.

Patrons and Tribe enthusiasts flocked to the venue early to support the band while experiencing the mystique of Maraye, and the energy was electric. DJ Adam and Lurbz kept the crowd engaged with pulsating music until the costume presentation began.

The presentation kicked off with Lost Tribe, who proved why they have been Band of the Year for the past three years, with their thematic brilliance and retention of traditional carnival elements. A special mention goes to Lost Tribe veteran dancer and Elektra babe Samantha Fletcher for her outstanding performance.

The night flowed gracefully into the renewed energy of Harts Carnival, thanks to the hard work of Nigel Celestine and Solange Govia. Serena Salazar shone as a standout model for Harts, captivating the audience with her authoritative presence donning ‘Zafirra’ by Solange Govia.

Bliss maintained their reputation as one of Tribe’s premium carnival offerings, with a stunning array of costumes. Sheena Ali delivered a standout costume, and her brilliant design performance on ‘Nova’ reiterates why she is becoming increasingly revered as one of the best costume designers from the culture at this time.

Tribe closed the show with their signature strong cohort of models and designers, leaving a lasting impression. The energy did not dissipate as patrons were eager to see some of their favourite designers and models grace the stage.

Jordanne Brown

Monique Nobrega’s costume, worn by the incomparable Jordanne Brown, was an undeniable highlight of the night. But the true showstopper was Marienage Bovell, who ripped the stage as both a designer and model. Her ‘Mystara’ costume had the crowd going wild, and she’s a testament to Tribe’s creative excellence.

In an increasingly competitive carnival landscape in Trinidad & Tobago, The Tribe band launch was a spirited reminder of the band’s creativity, talent, and dedication to the carnival arts. We cyaan wait to see what the road march has in store for us!
