On this, the first episode of Next Up, we feature Maestro Don. Hailing from Portmore, Maestro Don grew up next door to popular selector, Scratchy B of Cash Money Sound where he would regularly see Vybz Kartel and the niceness of music. He talks about his early days as a DJ while attending Kingston College and how he got the name “Maestro Don”. He describes his Dancehall journey as rough and bittersweet, met with a lot of disappointments but, “from mi love it, nothing can stop mi”.
