Meet Trinidadian Model and Influencer, Shernika James

It’s not every day a Caribbean influencer and fashion icon wakes up to see Nicki Minaj engage with their content on social media. For Shernika James, it’s deserving to say the very least as she emerges prodigiously as one of Trinidad & Tobago’s most prolific fashionistas.

“When I saw Nicki Minaj engaging with my content on social media I felt enthusiastic!!! I was so shocked and amazed that she engaged with an ordinary girl like me. Hopefully, it will be a real-life thing next time.” she stated enthusiastically.

Safe to say that Trinidad & Tobago produces some of the most mesmeric models and influencers in the region but with such an active marketplace, it can also be challenging for great talents to get a true highlight. Through consistency, tremendous passion, and an enviable work ethic, Shernika James has chartered a lane for herself to flourish in the industry.

“I’ve been modelling and creating content since 2019. I’ve stayed motivated to create content even before I got as popular as I am now because I have a great support system. They push me to be the best me. I stay grounded, humble, and kind. I put God in the centre of everything and let him be in control of all my thoughts, decisions, and creativity. I’m always being me and I also try my best to stay positive and keep going even though some days I feel like giving up.”

Her appetite for eccentric content and experimental ideas in her work is insatiable. She is outrageously confident and has the unique ability to pull off a variety of fashion styles from classy, to urban to sensual. Shernika James can do it all. We wait with bated breath and palpable anticipation, to see what’s on the horizon for this melanin Goddess.
